Holt Outdoors is a hunting brand built in rural southwest Missouri by Brennan Holt and his cousin Trey Watters. We film the real work of running working hounds, hunting deer and turkey, and training dogs for the long arc of the sport — no fluff, no edits that lie.
Chapter 1
The name came first.
Brennan grew up filming hunts long before YouTube was a place anyone went to watch them. Back then if you wanted a hunting show, you got on the Outdoor Channel or pressed your footage to DVD.
'Holt Outdoors' started as a hat — a handshake among cousins, friends, and family in rural Missouri who hunted together and ran dogs together. If you had a Holt Outdoors hat, you were in. The name was a brand before the brand was a thing.
Chapter 2
The pieces finally came together.
Brennan ran the dogs and worked the land. Trey came up in the same rural Missouri area and spent his career on the production side — shooting, editing, and producing video work.
Brennan had wanted his own hunting show for as long as he could remember. Trey had the production chops. In 2023 they pulled the pieces together and turned the brand from a hat into a working operation.
Chapter 3
We started traditional. We landed on hounds.
The first wave of videos was the hunting Brennan grew up doing — deer, turkey, casual outdoor work. But coon hunting was always the part that pulled hardest. Running hounds at night, the slow build of a competition dog, the long arc of taking a young pup all the way to a finished hunter — that's the work that shows up on camera.
Today the kennel runs treeing walkers built for competition coon hunting and the Coonhound Championship Series — our flagship format and the most differentiated thing we've built.
